Hello Dolphin Families!

We are so excited for the competitive season to kick off this Saturday at Time Trials! We would like to explain the point system we will be using for volunteers this year.

Every FAMILY is required to volunteer for a total of 10 points. (We recognize this wording is different than what was described during registration, but we wanted the points to more closely reflect actual time spent.)

• ØEach shift completed at a swim meet will count for 2 points (previously counted as 1). Please register through Swimtopia to receive credit as this is how we’re tracking hours. The only way you will receive credit by NOT registering is if we don't have enough volunteers and we must announce requesting more. When you arrive for your shift, please sign in under the pavilion on the registration sheet.
• oFor those of you math minds, 2 points per shift at a meet = 5 shifts instead of the previous 6!
• ØWe will also be having quite a few NON meet opportunities to volunteer as well. The points given for these volunteer opportunities will be based on the time needed to complete them and the task being asked. These will be coming out through a sign-up genius when we need them done.

If you only have a child in Learn to Swim and you do not have any competitive swimmers, your points required are only 5.

You are allowed to opt out of remaining points at any time during the season. The cost to “buy” your points is $30/point. Please know there will be PLENTY of opportunities to complete your points!! We will work with everyone to make it work for your situation. We greatly appreciate our Dolphin families and how well everyone pulls together to make our swim season work.

We will be sending out weekly emails with updated volunteer points, so you know where you are in your count. Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or concerns about your volunteer points! Jeanne Breidenthal will be in charge of keeping up with volunteer points and opportunities and her number is 713-256-1197.
