Get ready for the end-of-the-year party
Howdy Dolphin families!
Although it may seem like swim team will last forever, we are a week and a half away from finals and the end-of-the-year party.
The party will be at the Westchester pool. The pool will close to regular members at 6 p.m., and our party will start at 6:30 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. We will be presenting awards, doing the speeding ticket raffles, and having a great time.
We will have a barbecue buffet available, including brisket, pulled pork, hot dogs, cole slaw, baked beans, baked mac and cheese, creamed corn, dessert, iced tea and lemonade. The cost for the buffet is $10 for each adult and child age 12 and up. For kids 11 and under, the cost will be $5.
You do not have to pay for the buffet to attend the party. We get that some people aren't into barbecue. However, we have to pay for additional guards at the pool because this event has so many people in attendance. Therefore, if you would like to bring your own dinner, we ask that you pay $5 for the entire family to help defray the cost of the additional guards.
It is critical that you let us know if you will be attending the party or not and if you will be eating barbecue or not. Last year, many families wanted to pay on the day of the party, and we ran out of food. This cannot happen again. We need to know each family's status (attending/not attending; eating buffet/bringing own dinner) by 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20.
You can RSVP your attendance on Swimtopia at this link. You can also email Meg Maguire at firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know if you will be attending and paying for the buffet.
If you are attending, please print out the attached form. Forms will also be available at practice. You can pay by cash, check or Venmo. Please give your payments to Meg Maguire at the pool, or drop them by her house, which is just around the corner from the pool (14707 Broadgreen Drive). Please give Meg a heads-up if you drop off a payment so she can look for it.
If you haven't volunteered yet this season, this is the perfect place to get your volunteer time in. We will need help setting up the party, getting the food together, refreshing the buffet line, and cleaning up at the end of the night. This is a great job for families who have non-competing swimmers because they don't have to worry about rushing back from finals to do their volunteer jobs. However, we are happy to have any and all help. You can volunteer at this link.
Thank you for your continuing support of the Westchester Dolphins!
